When my son was 6 months old we decided to do a quick trip down to Melbourne for the weekend. Two things were on my mind for breakfast that day – we need to be able to walk there from our hotel and it also should to be somewhat baby friendly. After looking up the menu to Two Birds One Stone I realised it ticked both boxes but it also ticked the biggest one I hadn’t thought of – good food!
With a baby clinging to me I went for the safe option of poached eggs with avocado but to be honest when I go again I would still order this – baby or not as the crunchy toast mixed with the soft avocado and perfectly cooked eggs was perfection. The surprise dish for me was House made Bircher with apple, berries, almond and coconut crunch. I would say this is hands down the best bircher I have ever had, every mouthful was a delicious blend of flavours.
This place was definitely a surprise and delight and I would be back any day of the week and twice on Sundays!
